In this post, I'm sharing an easy and delicious hummus recipe with roasted sesame seeds! This creamy hummus is packed with flavor and is perfect as a snack or appetizer. I’ll also show you how to make a refreshing cucumber salad that complements the hummus perfectly. Whether you're enjoying it with tortilla chips or as a topping, this twist on traditional hummus is sure to impress!
- 1 cup cooked chickpeas (soaked overnight and pressure-cooked until soft)
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 tbsp roasted sesame seeds
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper powder, to taste
- Paprika powder, to taste
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp olive oil (add later)
- Reserved chickpea cooking water (or regular water)
- 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup cucumber, chopped
- 1/4 cup tomatoes, chopped
- Fresh coriander leaves
- For the dressing:
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper powder, to taste
- Olive oil
- Lime juice
- Honey (optional)
Cucumber Salad:
- In a bowl, combine the chopped onion, cucumber, tomatoes, and coriander leaves.
- For the dressing, add salt, pepper, olive oil, lime juice, and honey (optional).
- Mix everything well and set aside.
- Add 1 cup of cooked chickpeas to a blender.
- Add 1 chopped garlic clove, 1 tbsp roasted sesame seeds, salt, pepper, paprika powder, and 1 tbsp lime juice.
- Blend until smooth, adding reserved chickpea cooking water (or regular water) as needed for blending.
- Once blended, add 1 tbsp olive oil and blend again until creamy.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Garnish the hummus with paprika powder and sesame seeds.
- Serve with tortilla chips and cucumber salad around the edges for a refreshing twist.
