I’ll also show you how I packaged this delicious cake and some butter cookies to give to my friends and colleagues as festive gifts.
This simple recipe uses ghee for richness, along with cardamom and saffron for a fragrant, flavorful cake. I’ll walk you through each step, so you can easily recreate this recipe at home.Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups - All purpose flour / Wheat
1 1/4 cups - Powdered sugar
1/2 cup - Ghee
2/3 cup - Milk
1/3 cup - Curd
1 tsp - Baking powder
1/2 tsp - Baking soda
1/4 to 1/2 tsp - Cardamom powder
Saffron a pinch and 2 tbsp warm milk to soak saffron
Preparation Method:
- In a bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of flour, 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/4-1/2 tsp cardamom powder.
- In another bowl, mix 1/2 cup ghee, 2/3 cup milk, and 1/3 cup curd (yogurt). Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until smooth. Add saffron soaked in warm milk and mix well.
- Line a baking pan with parchment paper, pour in the batter, and sprinkle chopped nuts on top. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing and serving.
