Yummy bonda prepared with riped banana, jaggery and wheat flour along with cardamom powder. Best snacks for school going kids. Crispy outside and soft inside.
Ingredients: Yields around 15 to 20 (depends on the size of bonda)
- 3 large - Riped banana
- 1 cup - Wheat flour
- 1/4 cup - Jaggery powder
- 1/4 cup - Coconut grated
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup - Rava/Sooji
- Pinch of Cardamom powder
- Pinch of baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- Oil for deep frying
Preparation method:
- Take a mixing bowl, mash banana thoroughly, add jaggery powder, salt, cardamom powder and mix well thoroughly.
- Add wheat flour and continue to mix well so that no lumps are found.
- Add coconut grated, baking soda, rava/sooji and mix well. Set this mixture aside for 15 to 20 mins. By this time rava would have absorbed the excess moisture from the batter.
- The batter consistency should not be too thick or too thin. Thin batter absorbs a lot of oil while frying and thick batter would be hard to eat.
- Heat oil in a frying pan, pinch the batter and drop into the hot oil .Fry the bonda over medium heat oil to get the perfectly cooked bonda. High heat will cook the out part well but not the inside part(it will remain raw).
- Continue the same process with the rest of the batter. Yummy banana bonda is ready.
