Apple halwa is a yummy sweet prepared with apple, sugar and other spices. It is an easy and quick sweet that you may prepare under 15 mins if things are ready. If you like apple pie or apple tart, then this the sweet you have to prepare and relish.

- 3 big – Apples (any variety apple but make sure they are not sour)
- 1/2 to 1 cup – Sugar
- 1/8 tsp – Cardamom powder
- 1/4 tsp – Cinnamon powder
- pinch of Nutmeg / jaathikai
- 1/4 cup – Ghee
- Wash,peel and grate apples, set it aside.
- Heat 2 to 3 tbsp of ghee, add the grated apple, mix well and continue to cook until all the water in apple evaporates over medium flame. It may take 5 to 7 mins.
- Add sugar,cardamom powder, cinnamon powder and pinch of nutmeg, mix well and continue to cook until the sugar melts. Keep stirring continuously adding ghee in intervals to avoid drying.
- You will see the halwa becomes glossy, comes together and it no longer sticks to the bottom. This indicates that halwa is done (as shown in the picture). Add the almond slices along with the ghee to the halwa, mix well. Switch off the flame and serve hot.
- Always keep flame in medium heat.
- Add ghee as much you can because ghee makes the halwa more rich.
- You can adjust the quantity of sugar according to your taste.
