Almond halwa is a rich sweet prepared with almond paste, sugar and ghee. Almonds / Badam are rich in vitamins and minerals that helps to build a healthy heart. Badam halwa is one of my favorite sweets. Prepare this halwa for your guest and pretty sure they will love it.Here comes the recipe.

- 1 cup – Almond / Badam
- 1 cup – Sugar (as needed)
- 1/4 cup – Ghee
- 1/8 tsp– Cardamom
- 2 pinch – Saffron (soak in 2 tbsp of warm milk)
- 1 1/4 cup – Milk
- 1 to 2 tbsp – Chopped nuts for garnishing (pista,cashew nuts)
Preparation method:
- Soak Almond for few hours in enough water. Peel off the skin. Then grind it into a smooth paste along with 1 1/4 cup of milk. Set it aside.
- Soak saffron in a 2 tbsp of lukewarm milk, set it aside.
- Take a heavy bottom pan, add 2 to 3 tbsp of ghee and almond paste, keep stirring over medium flame for about 10 to 15 minutes, until it becomes thick.
- Add sugar and continue to mix,until the sugar dissolves. Followed by saffron soaked in milk and cardamom powder,continue stirring for 4 to 5 mins.
- Add a tsp of ghee in regular intervals and keep stirring until the halwa gets thick and does not stick to the bottom. Now switch off the stove and allow them to cool. Serve them with chopped nuts. Now yummy badam halwa is ready and enjoy it.
Notes:
- Always keep flame in medium heat.
- You can replace saffron with orange food color.
- Almond paste should be slightly grainy paste.
