- 1/2 cup – Powdered sugar ( regular sugar then just grind it to powder)
- 1/4 cup – Butter (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup – Tutti frutti (dried candied papaya)
- 1/2 tsp – Baking powder
- 2 tbsp – Milk
- 1 no – Cardamom
Preparation method:
- Grind sugar and cardamom to a fine powder and measure 1/2 cup out of it. Keep it aside.
- Take a mixing bowl, add butter and powdered sugar with cardamom, mix well to a creamy consistency. Then add milk and mix well thoroughly.
- Add in all purpose flour, custard powder, baking powder and mix everything together like a chappathi dough. Finally add Tutti frutti and gently mix well.
- Shape it into a tree log and wrap it in parchment paper. Chill it for an hour or over night. Slice them into round or square shape.
- Meanwhile preheat the air fryer to 350 F for 3 minutes. Arrange it in a crisper plate leaving enough space for the cook to bake. Air fry for 8 to 12 minutes or until well cooked. Remove and cool them completely before serving.
Notes:
- Since I had only regular sugar with me instead of powdered one, I grind sugar with cardamom and measured 1/2 cup in that powdered sugar and added in the recipe.
- Cook time and number of cookies depends on the air fryer and cutting size of the dough.
- You may also bake this biscuits in the regular conventional oven instead of air fryer. It may take 15 minutes to bake.
- Do not over cook the biscuits as it will become harder after it cools down.
karachi biscuits are looking nice and perfectly made. Good tea time snack.
