Soya chunk paratha has the perfect combination of health and taste.There are different ways of preparing paratha and all of them are delicious. Now make your favorite recipe even healthier.
Ingredients:
For paratha:
- 1 cup – Wheat flour
- 3/4 cup – Maida
- 4 tbsp – Milk
- 1 tbsp – Ghee / Vanaspati
- Salt as needed
- warm water as needed
For stuffing:
- 1 cup – Soya chunks
- 1/2 cup – Chopped onions
- 1 tsp – Ginger garlic paste
- 1/4 tsp – Turmeric powder
- 1 1/2 tsp – Red chili powder
- 1 tsp – Garam masala
- 1 tbsp – Oil / ghee
- Salt as needed
- 3 tbsp – Chopped coriander leaves
- 2 tbsp – Wheat flour
- 1 tsp – Lemon juice
Preparation method:
For stuffing:
- Wash and boil soya chunks in water for 5 mins. Once done soak cooked soya chunks in cold water for 2 mins and squeeze out the water, do it twice to get rid of the soya smell. Grind it to coarse (granules) and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan, fry onion and ginger garlic paste till golden brown, followed by turmeric and red chili powder.
- Add soya chunks, garam masala along with required salt. Cover with lid and cook this blend well over low flame.
- Put off the flame and immediately add chopped coriander leaves, wheat flour and lemon juice. Mix well together and keep it aside.
For paratha:
- Mix wheat flour, maida,ghee and salt together. Add milk, and knead dough-adding required amount of water. Cover and set it aside for about 1 hour.
- Make equal sized balls out of dough and stuffing. Roll the dough into 3 inch diameter circles; place stuffing in the middle and cover completely with dough. Press lightly with your palm and dust with flour before rolling out into thick flat parathas. Continue the same process with rest of dough and stuffing.
- Heat a tawa, place parathas and cook both sides till golden brown in medium flame. Drizzle little oil as needed. Serve hot with any raita and pickle.
